Inspire and engage kids through Art, Books and Crafts
Our Story

Hi there!
Hello and welcome to abckidsadventures.com! Thanks for visiting my page! I'm so pleased and glad to welcome you to my happy space. I'm a software engineer turned blogger, content creator, and writer who loves reading, and arts and crafts. I'm also a mom of 2 kids and passionate about raising them with books, arts, and crafts. Here I would like to share our journey of growing up with interesting books and fun arts and crafts activities. Hope it helps other fellow parents who are also looking to engage and connect with their kids in meaningful ways and spend quality time with them.

The inspiration for my blog are my children who always enjoy reading books and doing art and craft activities with their mom. Especially the older one is a very artsy craftsy person. She has helped me a lot in making this blog happen. She has been the greatest motivation for me to start this journey!
In fact, during the pandemic, this hobby helped in keeping us sane and has been a great stress buster for all of us. Though I had been thinking of starting this blog for quite some time, only this year I could make it happen. My daughter is the happiest person to see it come alive! I just took it up as a learning process and learned quite a lot of skills while putting it together. I will be ever grateful for this experience! After all, "It is not the destination but the journey or the path to the destination that will bring more joy!"(as my DH always quotes). And I cannot be more thankful to my DH for supporting me to hop on to this adventure!😊
I have always enjoyed writing and making arts and crafts since my early childhood days. So I'm really happy to have started this blog where I can pursue my passion, and share my ideas and inspirations.
As parents, we are all aware of the numerous benefits of reading books. Especially reading books with our children can improve the emotional connection and bonding with them. It not only helps to develop better vocabulary and communication skills but also sparks creativity and imagination. Through books, we can teach them life lessons and help them understand the world around them, including how to deal with their emotions and feelings. The best of all is, reading books can calm their bodies and mind and promote a good night's sleep. Besides, statistics have shown that reading a minimum of 20 minutes per day can expose them to 1.8 million vocabulary words in a year!!
Making arts and crafts with kids also has benefits similar to reading books. Additionally, it helps improve fine motor and sensory skills in very young children. Preschoolers can learn patterns and counting, shapes, and colors through these activities. In elementary school children it helps build patience and resilience and teaches them that certain projects are longer and harder to complete. There are many step-by-step instructions to follow. So they learn to gather the materials and clean up after. They learn some life skills along the way of creating. For very young kids the process seems more important than the product. So as parents, we need to encourage every small creation of theirs which will boost their self-esteem and confidence and give them the joy of creating something with their own hands. Above all, this will be one of the best ways to spend some quality, screen-free time with them indoors in a fun way. (As long as we read the physical books and do the arts and crafts after taking the instructions!)
With this in mind, I wish to add some value to your parenting journey through this blog. Here I would be sharing some of the best books that I have read to my kids, that are only kids approved. And some fun, easy to do and informative arts and crafts. Also, you can find some product reviews and recommendations of products that we found very helpful in our art and craft time.
